It's beginning to be quite obvious now! The moment that messes with my OCD.....half shiny, half matte steering wheel.

I try to alternate my hand position in order to make it less obvious.

Trivial I admit but something that annoys the hell out of me!!

Use a Magic Sponge with plain water on the wheel - it removes huge amounts of grime from all leather and returns it to its matte look - you'll be amazed at the difference it makes to a steering wheel

Fantastic that's got to be worth a go!

Golf GTD steering wheel after nearly 47k miles - looks as good as new. I hate it when it gets grimy particularly after filling up at the diesel pumps, so give the wheel a wipedown with a magic sponge once a month.

Does it not take the leather dye out as well? Is the sponge not impregnated with harmful chemicals? Sounds like no? I keep a pack of ‘Water Wipes’ for use throughout the car on the go and they are good, but the steering wheel doesn’t stay matte for long.
