Hi

I scanned my car and found the following error:
CAN network gateway:
00576 - Terminal 15

Does anyone know what this is?
I’ve noticed the following faults which I get that appear to be related as per Ross-tech website

Possible Symptoms
  • Power Locks operating at random while driving.
  • Radio doesn't turn off when key is removed from Ignition.
  • Battery drain.
  • No audible confirmation from alarm horn when arming alarm system.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Could be ignition socket faulty, gateway module fault or electrical wiring issue, given the symptoms, ideally a gateway swap would be an idea, this will require cp removal, its one of those pain faults unfortunately.

Thanks for your comment, do you know where it located? And what needs to be removed to get to it?

Remove glovebox, should be up on the right behind left side of radio iirc.

Managed to get round changing the gateway control module but nothing works. Does it need to be coded as I assume it isn’t a straight swap and go?

Gateway has to be coded for systems fitted in the car, used ones have some coding but if it's new then it's going to be blank.

Used ones will have CP enabled when fitted to your car, so that will need to be cleared

Clearky I need to drink my tea before commenting so early lol, didn't check the chassis, as John states, CP needed, but also as I advised you'll have to enable each module on the car within the gateway.

Back to my tea.

Thanks guys that makes sense now. Anyone know anyone that could code it?

You can refit the old gateway and use a code reader to obtain the coding and all the adaptation channels. Fit the new one and recode to match the old settings.

Sorry I don’t have any sort of software, plugs, code reader etc to plug into the gateway to obtain the coding to recode to the other one.

You’ll have to find someone to help, buy some kit or visit an independent specialist. I wouldn’t try Audi as they shy away from this kind of work if you don’t buy the parts from them, it’s likely to be quite expensive with their rates. But I could be wrong.

Your local VW Group Indie should be able to remove CP and also read old controller and change the next one to be the same, my local VW Group Indie was happy to do that for me when I swopped a non DAB radio for a DAB radio - I just could not be bothered involving an Audi main dealer, getting past the "meeters and greeters" is enough to make me grumpy! Though I noticed when I last needed to buy some screws/bolts from them, there were no "meeters and greeters" - times must be hard!
