Wonder if anyone has seen this before. Electric front passenger window only. The window only moves about 1-2cm when operated.
So, lets say the window is all the way up - press down, and the window moves 2cm then stops. Release, press down again, and the same thing.
Press up, and it will move up 2cm then stop. In this manner, the window will roll all the way up or down.
I've tried this from the drivers door control, and the passenger door control, and it's the same.
One touch up or down isn't working. The other 3 windows are fine!

Try cleaning the sills/rubber on the windows and see if it helps. You could use a silicone lubricant on a rag to help it along as well. I used wd40 specialist/silicone.

I’ve just had exactly this on my s3 and the dealer replaced the window regulator under warranty.

Well, went out tonight with the vagcom to scan the car, checked the door controller for errors, and a couple were present. Cleared them off, and window seems fine now.
Will lubricate the channels as suggested, and keep an eye on it.

Glad to hear it. The lubrication won't do any harm, it's good preventative maintenance if anything, just be careful with any trim.

The windows may stop because the load on the motor made it draw too much current, so it would stop as a fail-safe.
