Hi all, so I’ve had this clunk/knocking noise that’s been driving me crazy for the past 6 months, it happens when turning stationary or at low speeds and also clunks when I apply the brakes semi firmly and moving off.
I’ve replaced all the control arms, drop links, refitted the pads, and very recently replaced the steering rack after a garage told me that was the culprit but it hasn’t cured anything As far as I can tell.
The car is a 2008 Audi S5 V8, any help or similar past experiences will be greatly appreciated as I am at a loose end now haha.

Have you got access to a post lift? If possible I would get the tyre off and have someone turn it like you are doing whilst you get your ear right in there to pin point where the sound is coming from. Should be straightforward seeing how easy it is for you to replicate the sound. Unless it only happens when there's weight on it, if so then if you can get it over a pit instead and do the same.
