Tail light Issue

I am defeated on this one...

I have a 2007 A3 SE 8PA / RS3 Replica.
I had the Red OEM RS3 LED tail lights in for years with a plug in adapter, works great (still got them). Probably 6 months ago I bought some aftermarket black 'DEPO' tail lights, look brilliant love them... came to install them, removed the RS3 lights and adapter as the DEPO ones fit direct to the tail light plug of my 2007 model. Driver side outside light LED bar always worked, the brake light would never come on when I installed them (the plug was an absolute mess corroded to bits). So I put the brake light not working down to that... a few months on I decided to get a new plug pre wired, upon connecting the wires to the car now the brake light works and the LED bar doesnt... I tried replugging the RS3 OEM lights back in and the LED bar works but not the brake light. I've tried playing around with the wires too but I now am out of options other than to ask the professionals!

Im no mechanic, just a computer software guy by trade. I always have a go first on anything with my cars but this one has got me.

Can anyone help, happy to travel. Added some pics too.

These depo ones do they need the cars standard coding ie for prefacelift rear lights or the vcds weeks for facelift 08+ rear lights?

Pre face-lift, the plug direct in.

That's the issue then you need someone with vcds to put the coding in for non led (facelift) rear lights

might be a long shot as he hasn't been on for a while , but i would hazzard a guess if you called him he could try sort you out @t8ups as he is the lights guy on here , hope it helps

Interesting ... since this is happening only on one side (and the left side working fine) I'd still think this a connection issue, rather than coding. I think that the coding applies to both sides.

I would revisit the wiring, making sure you copy the left side exactly, especially since you previously rewired the connector.
