TFSIe charging port automatically opening?

Had it a few times now when empty it automatically opens? This normal?

You could be somewhere you can't charge!

My charge ran out today but charge point cover remained closed. Wasn't aware that it should automatically open.

Lol its kinda funny, but unless it detects a charging point is next to you, I cant see the practicality of that feature, I wouldn't want this to happen unless ai is in play with gps, net location services for charging locations.
