Alright peeps, its been 1 week since i bought the s3, so far one word..... AMAZING.

Just a few concerns. As my previous post, the engine sounds like a diesel and is it normal to year the turbo wind up when putting the foot down.

Hi. Best to put pics on a photobucket account or similar then put the URL in the attach picture task bar which is just along from font/size etc. Also, yes the injectors sound like a diesel! I cant really hear my turbo, maybe it has an uprated panel filter? Or been mapped?? If its been mapped you'll defo hear it spooling up!

How would I now that the car is mapped.

take it to a remapper to have a look at the file, they can compare it to an known original.

OR

check with a diagnostic tool the boost level, to see if its above standard boost.

Ok, but I doubt it that it will be mapped on a january 11 reg car with 10k on the clock.. I think Audi used to own it. I bought it from redlinespecialistcars in Harrogate. Just that I can clear hear the turbo spool up when giving it some beans. Had a Vxr before so I don't know what the engine or turbo sounds like

Yeah it was mate. Was Putting out 300+ bhp. Thats why I was wondering if it is common to hear the turbo spool up from the S3 as u didn't from the Vxr. Hope it not anything bad.

Nothing yet mate. TBH just want it standard. Spent lik 3k on the vxr. so gona keep the s3 standard...

Yes, you do definitely hear the turbo spool-up pretty loudly (especially with the windows down).

The S3 has the most aggressive sounding turbos that I have known on a standard car, although it's well disguised from within the cabin.

I suggest you run from this site then. Very fast! Either that or I promise you will be eating them words very soon.... Remap puts your car past 310bhp. Thats VXR material for £500

I had a stage 2 Astra VXR, 296bhp and then bought a standard S3. If you don't want to mod it very soon then I would be VERY surprised. The stock S3 is a good car but is very mundane and predictable to drive compared to a tuned VXR and doesn't feel anywhere near as quick. I'm stage 2 now and its a lot quicker than the VXR was if not as aggressive. It is a good move though you won't regret it

Just out of curiosity, say I had a budget of say 3k what will this be enought for handling upgrades and what sort of power am I looking at??

Yeah ur from vxronline i, I was the one who bought the hid set from you at 1 in the morning. Hehehe how's the s3 doing. You glad u went for the Audi route??? I know I am.

I can hear the turbo with the windows down. I was a little worried at first as it didn't sound quite right but after a service and oil change it's much quieter and sounds much more like you would expect it to sound. Previously it sounded just a little harsh, not a nice whistle if that makes sense!
