Thefts Getting Beyond a Joke

I know the above tweet refers to a BMW, but the current car crime is getting out of hand when thieves are brazen enough to do this kind of s**t on your own driveway.

Note the reference to the Faraday pouch!

What will it take for the manufacturers to improve vehicle security?
 
It's already happening as my keyfob (not Audi) goes to "sleep" after 30s of being set down so relay thefts don't work.

Yeah BMW are ahead of the game here. Think they had to be after the issues with key cloning through the OBD port on the E92s.

I have gone 'old school' and bought a steering wheel lock. I think that the current crop of car thieves aren't prepared or equipped for a bit of proper manual labour, when they turn up with their OBD key cloning trickery. I may, of course, be wrong.
 
240v mains electric. just don't forget to switch it off before you get in your car :scared2:
