This minor crash cost how much to repair!

Did it really need a new door and 16 days in a body repair shop?
Not forgetting like for like car hire, that bill only was £3,280

This was the damage.

Hard to see from a distance but closer up it mostly on the passenger door and trim.
Third party claim but no wonder our insurance premiums are going up!

Sounds about right if u include expensive car hire, debaitable if u needed a new door though. Did insurance palm you off to 3rd party to deal repair and car hire? Admiral tried the to send me to Auxillis to deal with the repair with like for like carhire. I opted to choose my own garage and a micra as the courtesy car. For two new doors it was about 3200. Mine was much worse than yours. And the doors where quite badly bent and seals at top where not lining up. Repairing garage shared the estimate and each door is 500 plus vat iirc.

Yes, I used a 3rd party claim service to handle it all, checked the body shop out before and was happy for them to do the work.

Just seems all a bit excessive.

This is why so many cars a declared write offs for relatively minor danage.

16 days of like for like car hire is why its so expensive. Also if its an insurance claim usually body shops will just replace panels. As cost isnt an issue.

Been over 3 months since the repair to the front passenger door. Very pleased with the repair work
