I've recently noticed a brief ticking sound when I turn the key to 1st ignition stage (before the engine fires). It's almost like a faint ratcheting sound, it lasts for 4-6 ticks and seems to be coming from the fuel pump area under the rear seats (mines a quattro). There's no other symptoms, car is pulling perfect and no change in the fuel economy.
I don't have vagcom but will try and get it to my local indi tomorrow....work permitting.
I'm taking it in for a big service in the next few weeks anyway.
Anyone had similar problems? Tried searching the forums but not found anything similar.
