Hey guys, I'm replacing my turbo this eve as the last bv43 died. My question is..... Can you inhibit the fuel pump so that I can crank the engine to prime the new turbo without the engine starting?

When I replaced my turbo I just cranked it and turned off straight away before it got chance to fire up a few times, the oils will come up straight away pal

Just for anyone else that reads this thread, unplug the cam sensor even though it's not used for running it is used for starting, unplugging this will inhibit it from starting, you should then disconnect the drain pipe from turbo leaving feed pipe connected and crank engine till you see oil coming from the drain side, don't get the starter motor too hot neither so ten seconds on twenty seconds off, this is how to correctly purge the turbo of oil, even though it's not on boost when on idle the turbo is still spinning and no oil on brass bearings is a sure fire way to reduce its life.
