updating maps

i have the original 2008 map in my A4,

is it really as easy as buying a newer disk and installing it? is there a limit to how new i can go? will the 2018 disk wrk in my 2g 2008?

seems too good to be true.

Google maps on your phone is a better option. Audi satnav is pants.

I bought one off the internet, I'm sure you can rip them on line and burn them onto disc but I'm not clever enough to do that stuff .
From what I remember you pretty much just put the new disc in.
Be aware though that the eject button tends to be locked from the factory to stop the dvd getting nicked on delivery, you need vcds or similar to get it unlocked .

thanks, I've already ejected my nav disk so it must have been unlocked in the past
