Upgrade speakers Audi Sound System and DAB+ retrofit

I bought my car with the cheapest sound system, is there any upgrade available?

Is there any retrofit for DAB + for this car now?

The car is a 2014 S3 Limo

OUCH! £1800 and you don't even get the nice trims

Could retrofit the front centre and subwoofer from the Audi Sound System for between £100 and £200. Makes an improvement. No solution for dab that I know of, short of retrofitting an MMI Techpack unit with dab and the screen.

Cannot be done via VCDS alone.

4 - make sure you are not in Diagnostic mode , enable Engineering mode

Find the correct file for your head unit in file Manager for instance this was on a Head Unit I Completed

4 - flash file (A3_MIB_8v0035864A/ STD_Audio_sound_HATCHBACK_9VD to (ECU 5F)

VCDS interface

2 - long coding

3 - Long Coding -> Byte 4 -> PR-9VD

4 - recode to (FF0A0000 active speakers installed (PR-9VD).

Be careful as not all MMI units are listed and once a parameter set has been uploaded there is no getting it back off.

Definitely if your not certain about what file to upload check your HW no in 5F Autoscan.

As Alix explained if you get the parameters wrong you will have to undergo SVM comparison to get the correct coding back to Factory spec for the Control Unit.
