Hello,
I'm a new member, having Just picked up my first Audi a few weeks ago - a 2019 A4 (pre-facelift). I downloaded the My Audi app, and linked the car to it - and was prompted for a vehicle code. Apparently this would have been provided to the original owner, attached to the keys or on a card. Neither were provided to me.
I emailed Audi about it, and was pleased to learn they could set me up without it, using a process called prenomination. They told me to call and and have the V5 and proof of ID handy, and they'd take me through the process - after which I'd simply have to sign in to the MMI within 72 hours.
I did as asked and called in, but unfortunately it didn't work. I'm still being prompted for the vehicle code by both the MMI and the app. The person at Audi said they'd escalate my case, as for some reason my car wasn't being updated by their servers. Although it is communicating with them - as it validates I am signing in with the correct credentials for example. I was advised they'd investigate and get back in touch with a resolution.
Fast -forward ten days, and I'd heard nothing - so I emailed and ask for an update. They are still investigating. But I should call and go through the prenomination process again, just in case the problem has been fixed. It doesn't fill me with a great deal of confidence and it wasn't the shortest of calls when I tried it the first time.
What do you guys think? Is there a realistic possibility things will just magically work if I call back in? Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks,
George
