2017 Audi Q2 GA 1.6TDI Audi Sound System Retrofit!

This rather nice Audi Q2 is used but new to the owner. Out of all available this vehicle had the best options for the price but was specified with the basic sound system while being built. Not being happy with the lack of Bass, Volume and Clarity the new owner of this car reached out to VAG Car Coding™ in order to see what might be possible.

The Basic Audi Speaker Package (8RM) consists of x8 20watt speakers, x1 Bass / Midrange in each door and x1 Tweeter within each A and B pillar. We have now upgraded this Basic package to the OEM Audi Sound System (9VD) with the addition of a 40watt front Centre and a 40watt rear Subwoofer, both Genuine OEM Audi parts. The difference these additions, and the needed coding, makes is pretty big expanding the stereo field, bass and indeed volume of the MMI System.

Once all was installed and test we then added our European Speed Camera Location Update to the MIB2 Technology Pack.

does it again! 2006 Audi Q7 4L Advanced Diagnostic and Coding Session!

Following a new battery installation, this Q7 from Ilford experienced Start / Stop Issues as well as Battery low warnings.

After performing an advanced diagnostic using the official VW Group Service and Diagnostic tool it was found that the new Battery was not coded to the vehicle and that the vehicles Auxiliary Heater was deactivated. Not a problem for VAG Car Coding™!

2016 VW Transporter T32 2.0TDI Shuttle MPV Diagnostic and ECU Flash Session!

Used but new to the owner this VW Transporter was experiencing loss of power and also going in to limp mode from time to time. While investigating the issue we found that someone had attempted to "map out" the DPF…. And did a very poor job of it! An Engine Control Unit stock software flash and a DPF regeneration later and all was well with this private hire vehicle!

2018 VW Polo AW 1.0TSI SE Reversing Camera Retrofit and Pipercross Filter Install!

Very very nicely themed example of the new VW Polo this but it was ordered without Parking Sensors! After investigating the possible options, and because front sensors were not really needed, it worked out more cost effective to retrofit a genuine OEM High Line Reversing Camera, complete with adaptive moving guidelines and switchable viewing modes.

Once the Reversing Camera retrofit would complete we then installed a Pipercross High Air Flow panel filter.

2014 Skoda Octavia 1.4TFSI SE Saloon Multi Function Controls Retrofit!

Instead of having to change out the complete steering wheel we were able to retrofit just the needed button "pods". This retrofit is not as easy as it sounds however as the vehicles CAN Gateway needed to be upgraded from the original Low to a High Module. Works of this nature within modern VW Group vehicles requires the use of the official VW Group service tool. Lots of Cloned and Chinese accounts out there so be careful who you pick to complete your works… ask for a dealership ID and to see an RSA Keyfob!

2017 BMW M3 Competition P3 Multi-Gauge Installation!

Heavily modified BMW M3 over for a P3 Gauge Installation. The owner of this vehicle has just completed yet another round of modifications, including water/meth injection, and wanted a way to keep an eye on various different sensor readings within the vehicle without installing loads of dials all over the dash!

These P3 Gauges are great, taking readings via OBD the vehicles OBD port but they also have additional sensor connections which can be made if needed.

2015 Audi A3 8V 1.6TDI SE Sportback Audi Sound System Plus Retrofit and more!

Not happy with his vehicles basic sound system, the owner of this Audi A3 popped over so that VAG Car Coding™ could retrofit an Audi Sound System Plus, a Single Channel Dash Camera and complete some basic coding!

As standard the basic A3 sound system has 6 speakers. An Audi Sound System retrofit add’s a genuine front centre dash speaker and rear boot mounted subwoofer, making 8 speakers in total. VAG Car Coding™ offers a custom option in addition to the Audi Sound System… the “Plus”. This option upgrades the front door speakers from 20watt units to 40watt units using genuine OEM Audi parts and makes for a marked difference in both sound volume and quality.

2015 Audi A7 4G 3.0TDI SE Sportback Quattro - Audi Smartphone Interface Activation which Audi would not allow!

With the release of the VW Group MIB Generation 2 Media Systems came the option to have Audi Smartphone Interface (ASI), which is Audi marketing speak for Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto, however Audi saw fit to place a restriction on which vehicles can be activated even if they have the needed equipment, and this A7 is a perfect example. Equipped with the needed MIB2 High media system we had previously tried to activate ASI via Genuine Licencing and failed as the activation was locked by VIN number on the VW Group servers. Image number 3 shows that this vehicle was manufactured 16/04/2015. Image 4 shows that ASI is only valid for A7 vehicles manufactured after 30/05/2016.

Well we finally did it!

After consulting the customer he requested that we perform an "un-official" activation of ASI and all is working as per factory specification. Its taken a while to learn how to perform our own "activations" but reverse engineer and learn we have, and we are now able to perform all MIB works in-house!

2013 VW Golf mk7 GTD Retrofitted AID Navigation Coding Session!

This Golf popped over to see us after having an Active Information Display retrofitted. Why? The Retrofitter in question did not really know what they were doing and left the vehicle with errors and without the ability to display Navigation maps in the new Virtual clocks. Not a problem for VAG Car Coding however, we even recoded the owners facelift rear lights so that all was working as per factory, with no errors and then updated the MIB with our EU Speed Camera Database!

While we are able to supply VW Group genuine OEM parts & complete any retrofits many owners out there enjoy completing, or part completing, retrofits and using 2nd hand parts can be cost effective. 2016 Volkswagen Golf mk7 R Variant Facelift Rear Lights Retrofit!

Having previously retrofitted an Active Information Display to this vehicle the owner wanted us to retrofit facelift rear lighting clusters, going from standard Halogen to full LED in the process. No Chinese modules or cheap wiring looms were used here, we don't believe in adding a potential point of failure to any vehicle. When VAG Car Coding™ performs this retrofit its completed OEM / factory style!

2016 Mercedes AMG GT S Coupe Dual Channel Dash Camera Installation!

While we only code and perform OEM retrofits on VWG vehicles (for the moment) we install Dash Cams to any make and model.

The owner of this AMG wanted the best dash cam system in his new car. We installed the Thinkware F800pro! Why do we like Thinkware Cameras?

•Quality Shielded cables, zero DAB issues.
•No overheating.
•Integrated Power Management, no extra boxes.
•Very low power usage.
•Motion, Sound & Vibration Sensitive Parking Recording.

What we like the most is these cameras are Set & Forget, no messing around. You only need to download video in the event of an incident!

With this AMG we did a lot of position testing as we did not want a box stuck to the screen & on show. We ended up installing the system in reverse, and completed a speed camera update also!

2015 Audi RS3 8V Sportback Magnetic Ride Calibration!

When a MagRide vehicle rolls off the production line its resting position is calibrated, a baseline from which how much power the dampers need to keep the car level is calculated. Incorrectly set the ride control will feed too much or indeed too little power & the vehicle will not handle correctly. A difference of just 3mm between actual & calibrated is enough to throw the system out!

The owner of this Audi RS3 installed KW Adjustable Lowering Springs & saw a difference of -31mm front and -17mm rear once set up how he wanted, more than enough to cause the ride system issues:

•Rear-End "Pogoing" over speed bumps & raised street furniture.
•Crashy Ride Quality.
•Increase in road noise.
•Loss of deference between Drive Select Suspension Modes.

Following our calibration this vehicle is now more controlled and compliant, a marked ride quality improvement, Drive Select restored and Pogoing eliminated!

Have a MagRide equipped vehicle? You should have it calibrated lowered or not as stock springs lower after they have been worn in!
