VCDS in Brighton? - limp mode and flashing glow plug light

after driving on the motorway last week in 2007 my a4 avant special edition diesel 170 it went into limp mode and the glow plug light started to flash. I pulled over and gave it 15 mins and everything was cool. Since then I have took it to my local VAG specialist who recommends the turbo has a good clean. Also in the mornings whilst driving to work the car will sometimes loose power for a split second while cruising around 20-30mph but it is literally for a second. I have cleaned the EGR and replaced the gaskets/seals with new ones as well. I was hoping there would be some one in Brighton or the surrounding area that could run a VCDS scan and maybe see what it could be.

I know there are loads of other threads on this but thought I would post to see if anyone has had recent problems like this and could give me a heads up.

Glow plug light and limp mode? I would be going to audi and having injectors recall done if it hasn't already.

I had the same issue. It turned out to be my DPF. It had been deleted out the ECU but hadn't been gutted so the soot built up and stopped the gases getting out. That then shafted my turbo! ive replaced EGR, MAF, N75, turbo and had the DPF gutted and runs loads better. Smokes a lot under boost. Just got to get Remapp done to get everything running sweet.

glow plugs light came on my car - i change stop pedal machine and is OK now 6 quid !

hopefully it's a cheap fix, it hasn't happened since but don't want to risk it. Tomorrow it's going into my local VAG guy to have the turbo taken off and cleaned and plugged in to see what faults come up. Also having my H&R springs fitted.
