VW Passat GTE Sedan 2020

After having five Audis in 9 years and having renovated the car port to also have 380v to properly charge a PHEV and also having a free charging at work. And also because Audi does not provide A3 sedan as PHEV I decided to change back to Volkswagen.

So I ended up with this:

So it is a VW Passat GTE year model 2020. It had 6000km on the meter when I bought it

First pictures when I got it home

As you can see it is very high in suspension

This is the situation before I got it lowered with Eibach proKit

And this after the installation.
It got 3,2cm from the front and 2,7cm from the rear lower.
It has settled a bit more with time, so currently it is 3,5cm and 3,0cm

Also I got same type of rear lip for it as I had on the red A3 sedan.

Since it was a used car it had also been washed in a machine, so I had to do someting about it.

Also I got a set of 19" wheels for it with new set of tires in size 235/40/19

After some time I also found a front spoiler from CSR automotive in Germany.

As you can see from the picture above the wheels were with quite a big ET of 42 I decided to add 12mm spacers

Also did not like the size and shape of the steering wheel so I purchased an Arteon R-line steering wheel and airbag for it.

Bought new summer wheels for her. Moving to BBS SX wheels. Used but in perfect condition. 8.5x19 et32. So no need for spacers any more.
Those arrived on friday, but still have to wait for a few months to get them on.

Purchased a virtual cluster for the Passat.

Spring cleaning yesterday.
Washed with strong petrochemical dilutant to remove all possible protection. Then polished out the defects what usually appears during winter. And protected with Chemical Guys HydroCharge. Polishing was done with a DAS8 copy. Pads were Scholl indigo and Scholl S20 Black.
I put on the summer wheels on friday. Will use the Michelins for some time until the roads get a bit smoother and then have the new Hankooks mounted. Roads are very rough after winter because most cars have spike tires during winter. I don't. Haven't had spikes for 18 yrs now and never had any issues.

Nice car/s, I like the subtle modifications you have made to it. I'm more jealous of your house and where you live though, it looks very nice from your pictures and I think I should move in to get the most out of my Quattro and winter tyre's when they are fitted...

The yellow house with the pond is ours and the blue one with the double garage is my brothers.
And about winter; we had the most snow ever this winter. Where we live the deepest was 96cm officially. But having about 150m of driveway to get cleared before you can leave for work in the morning gives one some not so nice thoughts of the place.

The bezel for the virtual cluster finally arrived. Took one month from AliExpress.
Fitting and coding will be done on the 9th of May.
I bought Carista dongle and the app also. Just to be able to change the themes on the VC. And make some adjustments like the power steering to dynamic and the throttle response behavior.

Why has this ever been even sold without it. Well, possibly because the ordering it new would have cost 1500€ and retrofitting was only 550€ in total (parts and work).

Fitted R-line side skirts last week. Original and already with correct color, since they are "second hand". I could now call it GTR-r, since I don't have the R-Line rear valance yet. It'll be bit harder to find, since it is totally diffent in pre-facelift and facelift, which I would need. Side skirts are same in both.

Bought a new set of winter wheels. The 17's looked so small so I bought a set in 19's. 225/45/19 Nokian R3s studless. The rims have seen some life so they will be refurbished next summer.

Changed wheels to 19's.
And now it is complete. Just have to wait 'til end of November.
