Water ingress rear passenger side

My MMI unit blew a fuse the other day and when searching around for the fuse box in the boot (Avant), I noticed that on the passenger side the sponge like material was wet (please see photo).

Funnily the side with fuse box (drivers side) was dry. I’ve not had chance to check the spare wheel well yet but has anyone else noticed a similar issue? Hoping it’s not a leak from one of the rear lights. I did check the bottom of the boot lid to see if it’s a washer pipe leak but that was dry and my rear washer is working fine.

Have you got the Pan roof? Mine had this issue and it was the drain for the roof.

Yes, I do have the pan roof...it’s not the cartridge issue I hope and can be fixed relatively easy!

Cheers @mk4gtiturbo, looks like it could be a pretty big job! Going to check the headliner tonight when I get in. I assume the water trickles down the C pillar into the well as I can think how else it could get there.

Did you DIY it or got someone to fix it?

I have actually only had the car for about 6 weeks so the suppling dealer did it when I pointed him to that tread!!
