What did you do to your audi today

Bought two new tyres for it after the rear NS picked up a nail this morning and deflated very rapidly on the A2.

Unnecessary expense isn't it Jeff

Bought CF mirror covers for the S4, which have been ceramic coated now. They will probably go on the car in the next few days ...

Cheers mate. Planning on doing them tomorrow and will be using my DAS6, not sure how it is going to work on the small areas but we'll see.

Will be looking at using S20, and might pick up the CCoating from my detailer tomorrow whike I am there to pick up my CF mirror covers which are getting coated as well.

The plan is to fit the alloys either on Thursday or this weekend.

I'd be frightened to go and look at one of them, our local Nissan Nismo dealer has had a very nice looking grey one for maybe 6 months, but changing to that would mess up my garage, wife's car would need to live outside until I build a single garage extension for it, and I don't like de-icing cars!

Nissmo or GT3 RS maybe one day. Just need to work a bit too hard to get one

Since people are talking about coating wheels... I understand the reason for coating wheels with some form of (ceramic) coating is to make them easier to wash. How do people then manage with wheel balance weights? Do you strip completely, clean and apply coating and then get the wheels rebalanced or just coat over the wheel balances? Does sticking wheel weights to a ceramic coated wheel mean they are easier to dislodge with a brush/pressure washer?

Alloys ready for C5. Once out of practice, 'hand job' becomes very tiring. And hand-polish even difficult

Cheers mate. They actually look a lot better in real than in the pictures :) Hand polishing was the difficult and tiring bit but other than that it is quite easy. Luckily the alloys were very kept very clean by the previous owner (and a forum member here).

Winters on. And although I was a bit apprehensive about 18s and the style of alloy the silver is kind of growing on me.

Cheers mate. I had been searching the web for over a month for a good deal. Saw these and grabbed them immediately .

I have a 150-ish mile trip tomorrow so, will find out however based on my short-ish trip back from the tyre shop yesterday I was quite surprised on how quite these were compared to PS3s that I have on 19. The ride also appeared to be quite smooth but that could be a placebo effect. Will report back tomorrow.

Got my car back yesterday after being away for a week having the DSG gearbox recon'd inc new clutches. Drives much better now, luckily I was able to claim on a warranty I took our when I bought the car which cost £1100 and the repair only cost me £225 of the £3K bill :)

(At the weekend) performed an S-tronic service with OEM fluid and filter. Was very suprised by how clear the oil was that came out (like new), so that and the blackness of the filter, showed the filter was doing it's job, and well.

On Monday, I reset the TCU adaptions.

Getting Thinkware F770 front and rear dash cams and Audi OEM reversing camera installed by @DJAlix from vagcarcoding today. He will also code the camera to MMI. Pics to follow

Borrowed a mates Carista adapter and enabled needle sweep and beep when unlocking and locking the car. I was surprised how much could be changed, quite an impressive bit of kit for not a lot of money! Was tempted to disable stop/start as the rare time I forget to turn it off it sends me nuts :) I’ve left it for now but may have another play with it at some point.
