What gets your OCD going?

Headrests both back and front have to be level

Nothing and I mean nothing should be in the boot or door pockets

CORRECT and the reason for this is because of RATTLES!

Rattles in cars do my ****** nappa in and door card rattles are the WORST.

:respekt:

And don't get me started on this stuff:

Panther seems to be a moving target for it in my neck of woods

Warren you know what to do if a bird ****s on your car don't you?

Even in my youth and with ultra thick beer goggles on I wouldn't knock anything with bowels that loose!

haha this thread is funny!
i have to agree to some of the above mentioned ocd habbits...

ok so mine are:

sunvisors and middle visor thingy have to always be down... if your a passenger deal with it, you dont need to move it back up as you dont need to look out the window!

climate control shows the same temp on both sides... only exception is when the other half is in the car and she is too warm while im still cold so i turn it down her side or she will start to break out in heat spots

i have seat belt pads on my car, these have to be moved all the way to the top so that the belt fully retracts... annoys me when passengers just leave them half way down the belt and then the metal part of the belt hits the b pillar

the passenger seat must stay level with the drivers one.

nothing is allowed to stay on the carpets after i get out... this includes bottles!

No one is allowed to touch the glass! i dont care if its steamed up and you want to draw a face... i will break your fingers!

all the headrests have to be as low as they go on the seats.

thats all i can think of right now :p

I like that! lol

Also, I just wanted to say that I didn't really know what a lot of you were on about when you were saying that the RNSE knob had to point up. I didn't notice anything on it so was puzzled. When I went out last night I had to have a look, and now I understand! So what did I do? Make sure it is now pointing up.

So thanks for making me add something else to my list! :p

Totally agree with the visors going back away after use and the vents for me have to all face towards me lol

With me the temp always has to be an odd number and the same both sides and even the little 'pings' (as I scientifically call them) that show the volume of air coming out the vent have to be increased or decreased in three's.

Also can't have anything in the pockets apart from my side where theres a pair of sunnies and a cd wallet thing and my work parking permit.

The only think in the boot is a small bag that houses scrapers, car chargers that aren't often used, de-icer & screen wash.

I do the recycling of the air fresheners too, where they move at various stages of their smell-life. LOL

The way I see it, if OCD is the worst thing people can accuse me of then I ain't doing bad haha - never had anyone say 'urgh, how tidy's your car!!' :)

My list of hates....... Which occur all the ****** time because her indoors uses the car for commuting now!!!!!

- Slidy covers on vanity mirrors have to be closed.... (never are on either side)
- armrest has to be verticle (never is because she has always left a redbull can in the cupholder)
- NO sh**e in the door pockets (on Friday i drove the car and chucked 2 x hairbrushes and various rappers and crap out the window that had been abandoned in the door pockets).
- Nothing at all in the footwells (Wife regularly leaves slippers, boots etc in them)
- Nothing left on back seats (wife has half her wardrobe removed from the back ones every Friday)
- No crap in the boot. (I have a small box with odds and ends in the corner of the boot velcrod down so it doesn't move. Then all of a sudden a massive pink storage container has appeared and is now full of woman stuff)
- volume has to be upright and lighter straight.
- no eating in the car (by the amount of wrappers in the doors pockets I guess she does that too)

So tell me?????????????? Is it time to get a divorce. lol

i can relate to the majority of things mentioned plus i have never used my rear wiper otherwise on the odd occasion that the rear of my car is dirty it doesn't look right with a wipe mark over the window! :( Haha and every couple of days i shake my mats out to get rid of any small bits of grit and if its dirty on the ground and i go to get into my car i get in and tap my shoes together outside of the car to stop getting my mats dirty! god im sad!! Haha

Just a little thread to see what weird and wonderful pet hates you girls/guys have when it comes to your cars?

For me it's the following:
  • All the air vents must be centered, apart from the ones at the far right/left. These have to be pointing at the windows.
  • The temperature on the A/C has to be the same on both sides, and must be a whole number.
  • The passenger seat absolutely must be level with the driver's seat. And the back has to be in the same position too.
  • If I use the sun visor, I have to put it back up when I'm done with it. So when I get out the car, it goes up.
  • When I let people out of the back, the seat has to go back into position. If on the passenger side they let whoever out the back and don't put the seat up and they close the door, I have to go round and put the seat back up again.
OCD at it's best! lol

Ha ha pretty much bang on for me too! Drives the Mrs Mad!!

But I am like that at home too, stripes on the lounge carpet and kitchen has to have a mirror finish all round!!!

Regards

OCD FREAK!

Most of the above mentioned plus there has to be no stickers left on windows even the tax disc is minimal black circle which is discreet as can be. The wing mirror button has to be centred...

Agreed, car gets home from dealers and first job is to remove all dealer stickers in windows / number plate surround / branded tax disc / number plates changed (if dealer stamped).

Also ignition key must have no **** hanging from it that clanks when I'm driving.

Rattles and vibrations in the cabin are probably my worst OCD!

my biggest OCD is that the volume dial MUST be pointing up (|) on the stereo. i always adjust the volume through the MFSW ONLY lol.

You lot are WAY too fussy/mental/sick in your head.

My only genuine car OCD is this....

All of my cars must have four wheels. And I won't drive it if there are any less*

*Unless it's a Robin Reliant.

Nothing whatsoever on the seats i.e bags, or anything of that sort dont want a mark on my leathers
The temperature must always be the same on both sides
Nothing in the boot
Vanity mirror covers must ALWAYS be closed
Mirror switch must always stay centered

At the moment all i can think off

Mine is as above, my worst though is if I am in he car with the missus and she hears a song she like she just turns it up using the volume on the dash board, normal to most, but drives me mental, because then I have to drive to where ever I am going, not worrying about what traffic is doing what around me, but how that knob is now turned the wrong way, let me do it on the steering wheel..... aghhhhh.
Its got to the point now though, if she borrows the car, I get back in it and she has changed all the vents and sound know facing all over the place to wind me up.... its funny she says.... try getting out of the boot wrapped up in carpet!!!!! Thats funny:jump:

Ohh man this thread is like feeding fuel to a burning fire. We're soon gonna have more pre check items than a commercial airline piolt.

The misses has the A1 she is the same with the volume button I also pointed out that both SD cards should only be black in colour the blue one just does not match.

Also rear view mirror has to fit the rear window perfectly with even amounts of borders, same as Wong mirrors these have to be same angle, apart from when needed for reversing etc avoiding kerbs...

Cant drive cars that don't have nanolex G3 G1 or some decent rain repellent on the windscreen, streaky windows is a no no.

lmao, exactly the same!

I have to admit to the volume at 12 or 14... i noticed it this morning on the drive into work.

LOL that is so true! Im lucky i dont have a volume knob on my stereo so thats one less thing to check.

Cant drive cars that don't have nanolex G3 G1 or some decent rain repellent on the windscreen, streaky windows is a no no.

YES! I was in Farhans A3 the other day and his wipers are so bad... loasds of streaks it just bugged me... what about when its stopped raining but there is dirty water splashing up from the car infront and it leaves that dirty mark all over the windscreen... i have to use the water to wash that crap away every minute.
And every 2-3 days i go around with a tissue and wipe down the mirror glass... sometimes i get the missus to do it on the passenger side while im doing the drivers side at a set of traffic lights :ninja:

does anyone else have the compultion to get rid of the error lights that come up on the DIS as soon as it appears? i sometimes get lights out message so i just pull over and sort it out there and then... i cant wait to go home and sort it :ninja:

Rear head rests have to be as low as they can be (they move up when people sit in the back and they don't bother to put them back down)
That sun visor thing on your parcel shelf has to be down at all costs!! Hate it when i close my boot and it pops up!
Both temps have to be the same (even number) unless the missus is in (she's always cold i'm always warm)
No error signals on my dash or anywhere in my car. Even the fuel light!!
Rattles are the WORST!!! Hate it when the other half is in the car because her bag rattles due to metal on it somewhere. She now has to hold onto her bag (to stop the rattling noise) if its got any kind of metal on the outside that makes a noise. Mainly because i will throw that mother f***** out of the window. hahaha
Volume button doesn't point to 12o'clock and won't! Not sure if its from where i'm sat but it doesn't look like its at 12o'clock!!
When someone gets out of the rear of your car the passenger back rest doesn't go back. You have to pull the leaver back up to make it go back. The seat goes back to where it used to be but the back rest doesn't.
Another one as bad as the rattles is the arm rest. Once you pull the handbrake up, the arm rest moves up. So when you put the handbrake down i have to pull the arm rest all the way up to put it all the way back down again!!! Everytime i drive the car. I bet i look really weird when i'm doing it in a quick motion. Ha

I think that's them all.

you fixed it bruv!!! has been fine ever since!! the bleep in the alarm has been killing my neighbours though haha! dont think they appreciate it at 3am especially when i forget stuff from the car and have to go back unlock/lock the car. Especially with my locking OCD. I basically press lock 10000 times when walking away from the car "just to make sure" its locked lol!

ahh wicked!

yh i love the alarm beep on mine too... I think we just have an evil streak and like to **** the neighbours off :p
I used to have a proximity sensor on my Focus and when other cars would go by too closely it would go off.
I actually had a neighbour knock on the door and ask me to turn it off, but i just said its part of the alarm and i dont know how to so live with it! MWahahaha

LOL! So do I! I press it, see the light's flash, and then press it again! While I'm walking away, I'll probably press it a couple more times while looking at the key fob, making sure I've pressed the right button. Then when I get home I think, "Sh1t, I think I forgot to lock the car" lol

ash leave my wipers alone

that silly alarm beep i had it on long enough big hassle when coming home late....i ALWAYS forget something! so i usually have to reopen the car at 3am in the morning....Still didnt stop the ****** rats nesting in the engine bay though!

And don't get me started on this stuff:

bird_poo430x300.jpg

Panther seems to be a moving target for it in my neck of woods

AAAAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhh i hate that stuff !!!! the thing is if i come out of work and its on the car and i have no proper way of removing it without damaging the paint, i will be driving home from work still thinking about it been there hitching a free ride and wanting to get home quick to remove it as that is then the first job to do when i get home rather than making sure all my socks are in colour cordinated storage compartments and my books are in alphabetical order

ok the last two are lies but the bird shat one really does my swede in

I couldn't care less what the volume number is, 13 happens to be a good sound level I find, but I'm not fussed what it's on.

The vents normally I would have them lined up so they are all at the same angle But the way the vents are in the B6 A4 I didnt notice for a while that they wernt the same as each other, but they are now. in my Escort as due to the way they are it's obvious when you get in if they have been moved. my dad is a pain for flicking up and down the passenger side one when out in it !

The climate control I like to be the same either side, can be an odd number just what ever is comfortable. I'ts not so much a case of being the same either side to look at but more whats the point in having it blow colder on one side of the car to the other when it's in the same cabin !

nothing else bugs me to be honest, i have a nice Ugg boot air freshner round the rear view mirror and I sometimes forget to put the sun visor back in position.
