Looking good leave rings off mate also did you do the fog lights grill your self and also i see there red behind did you paint that?

I'd leave the rings off just because they never go back in the perfect position and it looks far worse if they're out of place, that's why I left mine off anyway.

Retrofitted projectors in my lights and blacked out the chrome internal trim (got H1 halogens at the moment, but i just ordered high powered LED H1's)
The shrouds have integrated DRL's that I've hard wired to fuse 31.
Please tell me what you think?

looks very nice chap, fog lamp grille mesh is a nice touch but does tend to match a honeycombe rad grille better then the s-line ones as the it kinda keep things matching, still looks very nice though.

on the vent front again, I still don't really like the central horizontal bar to be honest when used with the mesh so I am going to get another pair and remove the bar, fill any bits that need filling and repaint them matt black with a new piece of honeycombe mesh fitted.....I think that kinda looks better , rather than an add on bit....

Looks ace. You got a write up?
Thanks Dani,
I haven't got a right up, I only just put them on yesterday.
If you want to do it I could let you know how.
It's a long job, took two whole days.
I might take the light to pieces again just to remove a bit of fluff on the projector lense. If I do I'll take some pics.

Its gone with audi doncaster but they dont do bodywork so ship it out to seat at sheffield(where mate works) so its still under good will. Costing me £407 for my 30% contribution

Fitted rain try cover/battery cover and fitted replacement Audi rings badge on engine cover as mine had gone walkies. Gave the engine bay a bit of a clean and some Autoglym protection too, came up very nicely!

Been away from the forums for a while, hopefully back to it now

Bit of a retrofit day yesterday. Took all of 5 minutes seeing as I already had the quad lock and fakra due to having a symphony II.

Been a while since the wagon had any real TLC so decided this weekend will be dedicated to it...
Snow foamed, washed, clayed, washed, waxed and waxed again today, leathers treated and the engine bay cleaned.

Car 1
Car 2

Also done a oil change and air filter change today. I particularly enjoyed replacing the oil filter! :rage:

looks spanking clean chap, better than showroom .....nice, yep oil filter change is brill..lol, do you have one of the mess free tools .....I do mine twice year and find it strangley rewarding to be honest...but hey i'm just that way..haha

Yes Rob, I do indeed however nothing is EVER plain sailing for me, very gifted I'm!!

Whilst the car was up on the ramp, had a look at the snub mount (rubber A6 3.0) that we changed last year and mine seems fine.

Boring but essential one today - full oil service, sump plug etc only took 90mins so more than happy.

Then tightened and replaced the self tapping screws on the LCR splitter and CSR side plinths.

Then washed the wife's GLA instead of mine

Easiest DIY job mate, took us 20mins longer as I went for a new sump nut and cleaned the undertray!

You not tempted to do it yourself?

Used it to pick up my other wheels from the refurbers, what an excellent job they've done too. All set up for winter, never had snow tyres before so we'll see what happens......

spent 30 mins swapping around rear discs and fitting new EBC pads, the mintex ones were so dusty they were awfull, so back on trusty EBC with very little in the way of brake dust problem.

Wheels look nice jon. Without offending you are the tyres budgets? Ive been trying to justify winter tyres for a while now but cant really afford the innitial outlay for 4 new tyres at once.
I could maybe afford budgets, but am unsure if budget winters are better than premium summers if you get my drift.

Anyway good luck with the new tyres and make sure to report back and let us know how you find them.

I've run winter tyres for the past couple of years on standard s line rims- probably class the tyres I have as 'mid range'. They make the world of difference (and I'm comparing them to top of the range premium Bridgestone that I run in the summer). The extra grip is definitely noticeable, particularly under braking, and the car is generally more sure footed.

I do notice a significant 'cut off' temperature though at around 7 degrees C outside temp - all the benefits drop off a cliff in spring time - so you have to carefully time switching back to the summer rims!

The tyres are budgets, well probably mids as mentioned above but my Mrs is good friends with the refurbers family and I got the tyres for the price he paid which to be honest was unbelievable and too good to miss. The Toyo Proxes that were fitted were shot and I just don't want to put my RS6's through a winter so they've got to be worth a try??
