What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

Nothing yet, besides scoring a set of 300x22m rear brakes(brand new discs, very low mileage calipers and brackets).. ordering a set of brake pads in the next few days. Then when the calipers come in, im going to paint them in the same color as the front calipers, and then its mounting time! Then the braking part is done: 320mm 4-pot fronts and 300mm rears :)
2 questions pal.

Do you mind saying how much the rears cost you?
What calipers you using up front?

Sure, paid 100 quid for the 300mm rear brakes, calipers and carriers..
for the front I'm using 4-piston Brembo calipers with B7 3.2 320mm discs

Ebay or breakers mate? That's a bargain.

What 4 pot calipers you using?

Our local version of Ebay. He offered the brake discs, I asked him if he had the calipers and carriers as well, which he had.. unfortunately no pads, but they aren't much new...
I'm using Q5 4-piston calipers, they come in 2 versions, 1 for these 320mm discs, and another version for 345mm discs..

They look ace pal. Do they bolt straight up or do they need custom carriers?

Took a trip over to R Tech yesterday for an inlet and injector clean. Well worth it, the car feels smoother and much more responsive. They took a few before and after shots...

Looks a massive improvement chap , every time I see how bad the inlet can get with these engines It makes a full pcv delete even more important.
How long to do the work and approx cost chap.

I think it took them about 4/5 hours, I left the car with them at 8am, came back around 2pm and it was done. £350 all in, not cheap but worth it in my opinion.

Hi Rob, are they still not able to map a Quattro?

Unfortunately they only have a 2 wheel drive dyno. I did ask and they said it could be done if I was willing to leave the car with them for a week.
I wish I’d known about them earlier, great garage with really passionate people who understand VAG cars.
I’ll definitely be going back at some point.

I think 350 for a carbon clean AND injector clean service is a really good price!

Replaced timing belt for fuel pump.
Excuse the dirty car, been trouble shooting for a few weeks.

Made a custom 3" downpipe. I made the lower v band too close to the subframe so I need to adjust that tonight.

Fancy making another one? Looks well that pal.

Absolute nightmare I can see why they charge a fortune for custom down pipes. I've done a centre box delete, I made a 3" to twin 2" transition and chopped the centre box out. I couldn't believe how thin the pipes were. Prob about 40 - 45mm. It's 50mm all the way back now.

That sounds like a decent setup now pal. Where you based?

Picked the car up today. Had the South Bend stage 3 Daily clutch, SMF and new clutch bearing fitted while I was away on holiday.

Only took it for a short drive but got to say I’m pretty impressed with it. Hardly any chatter from the flywheel, peddle is slightly stiffer but not uncomfortable and it actually feels as if the car is able to put more power down to the wheels.

I’m only 20 miles in on it but so far so good.

Paid my mates dad to put the milltek on for me today. Just haven’t got time to do it myself at the moment.

Sounds awesome and car feels a little more responsive. I’ve got to adjust the tailpipes as they’re not siting to my licking but that’s a minor detail
We need a sound clip with the hybrid on!

Soon as I’ve got all my mods on I’ll get one up mate.

This is the next mod. S3 injectors and new seals, gaskets, clips etc:

Just waiting for my runner flap delete kit and new inlet manifold gasket to arrive then will do it all in one hit. Hopefully this weekend

Actually yesterday.

Viezu remap by Mark (AMTuning - Waterlooville, Hampshire).
What a difference!
Smooooother all the way.
Pick up, acceleration, tiptronic changes.
I was sceptical about a remap but not now.
Essential upgrade.

What spec are your wheels and tyres mate ?

3sdm 0.06 18x9.5 et40
20mm spacer in the rear bringing ya to et20. Still needs a 5 or 10mm spacer up front so I can get the center caps on.

Tyres 225/40r18 Toyo Proxes T1-r.

Might rip it a little at the front still be will see.

You could run 215/40 all round it’s not to much stretch but would reduce the scrubbing. I’m running 9.5j all round et38 but no spacers and the front rubs when the airs to low. But if your not going stupid low you should pull it off nicely. Looks very classy as well buy the way

Cheers man. I can’t go much lower than it is now. Have about 15 speed bumps on the way to work Doesn’t scrub but I think it might with a full boot. I think I’ll get a little negative camber added and it’ll be all good!

I test fitted my new wheels to see what colour I wanted. I like the grey so think I’m going to get them refurbed in a slightly lighter grey.

I also painted my callipers as the new wheels have much larger spoke gaps to see the brake calipers!

I did notice some bad things too though. One of my current wheels has a screw in it and also someone has used a calliper rewind tool in the past on the rear calliper and has torn the boot and the piston has now seized so will need to get a rebuild kit and rebuild it!

I also a couple of days ago put my plate on and then after doing the above came home and gave the old girl a bath

It was in at a specialist getting the timing belt, water pump, aux belt and thermostat done on friday and they mentioned “rattle from timing chain in head. Possible blocked oil pump/gauze”. So I have been to Audi and ordered the new type pick up pipe and hopefully that sorts it without any damage!

Lawyers in Australia and the USA are examining claims against Audi that several of their cars have been fitted with defective timing chains and tensioners, resulting in early engine failure and unsafe vehicles. Is anything being pursued in the UK about this issue?

Vehicles affected are: 2008 - 2012 A3, A4, A5, Q3, Q5, TT

My granddaughter’s A3 timing chain slipped and wrecked the engine at 88,000 miles.

Had a good day for a change, managed to pickup my new s4 valance and get it painted up ready for clear laquer tomorrow.
Also ordered up new FMIC , seems like a decent kit for £450 so that's another item of the todo list.

Nope, I have a friend who works in Chicago on and off , he was living their for a few years but is moving back now so happy to put it in his container of furniture etc that's coming back shortly.
Seemed like a good kit for the money and it was on sale too, I would have left it under normal circumstances but it was an opportunity too good to miss.

Managed to finish the paint job on the S4 valance , also fab'd up some exhaust tips models to see which looks better.
tried oval, nope not keen despite liking them on the rs4 setup, cutout is to wide for a round single so that's a non starter, messed around with slash cuts/ straight cuts and all manner of differing sytles but finally I've settled on this .
Staggered slash cut 67mm quads in stainless , big enough but without looking too much in your face style.
just need to find them in the right sizes overall.
