I'm sure we've all thought of this before, but if I had an unlimited budget for cars, I would choose the following......what would you choose?????

LFA
DBS
911 Turbo
458 ITalia
Lamborghini Aventador
R8 spider
2013 RS 6
Ariel Atom

Ok so now I've depressed myself, how about others choices?

Id spend a fortune on my current S3.
A big comfy cruiser like an RS6
A mk2 escort to restore and put something interesting in.
Koinegsegg agura R to scare the crap out of myself every once in a while
Id also like an audi coupe/s2, heavily modified, prob make it time attack worthy, a real monster.
Id prob also find myself buying lots of 80s rally icons too

No particular order...

R8 v10 as the every day car
Bowler defender for some off road fun
Ferrari 458 for posing
Aston Martin DB5 for classical class
69 Dodge charger for the muscle
Ford SVT raptor V8 Pick up to put the bikes in
Lambo Veneno for days when I'm batman :ninja:
The new V8 Range Rover sport for the Mrs.
V8 Ariel Atom for track days.
..... and a fuel truck with driver to follow me around.

Konigsegg (any coz they all rip your face off)
Mk2 Escort with an S2000 engine (I just know that's the right engine for the chassis)
Porsche 993 Turbo (Bad Boys was a great film)
Porsche 996.1 GT3 (track car with style)
Singer Porsche (track car with character)
As SuperKarl said, lots of 80s rally icons but for me they would be to have a try and sell them for a profit.
McLaren MP4-12C (posh track car)
TVR Cerbera 4.2 (I need one, not the 4.5, just the 4.2. I've needed one since '96)
TVR Sagaris (bonkers, love it!)
Ariel Atom Mugen (nasp ;), the last thing you want in a car like that is a supercharger or a V8)
Ferrari F40 (I'm an 80s kid but this still is the best car in the world even if I wasn't)

I've done this so many times and I doubt a lottery win could fund my new habit. The above is just scratching the surface of what I'd want to have, but they are the ones I'd keep bar the 80s rally things.

unlimited buget. there isnt enough time in the world to make such a list. there are so many cars worthy. but for a quick effort and dont think im copying you guys its just weve all got really good taste in cars, lol. my list is pretty much the same as superkarls, lol. exept i would have an ascari a10 instead of the koinegsegg. and also have a lexus lfa at the very top of the list. the noise that thing makes is just amazing. but as i said the list would be never ending

Of course, it's not just choosing which cars to get, you've then got the faff of getting them all, housing them all, insuring them all (I can see Tim from Prestige beginning to drool as he reads this), keeping them all clean and well-maintained, writing about them all on various forums, (oh, and driving them from time to time).

I think a more challenging question would be, if you had an unlimited budget, but could only choose one car to cater for for all your transport needs and requirements, what would it be.

Well said....in that case.

Singer Vehicle Design

Does everything. Looks horny. Goes like stink. Modern bits that need to be modern but without the fagginess of modern cars. Perfection, in other words.

I've changed my mind on the koenigsegg, its got to be the mclaren P1.
Lexus LFA is a great shout too, rare as rocking horse poo, and the sound...WOW

speaking of sounds, id have something with a 2JZ in it that will rev to and beyond 9k.

I only ever want one car with an unlimited budget, and that's an original McLaren F1 road car! There's probably quicker cars out there now, but remember reading the roadtest in Autocar back in 1994 and absorbing the stats like 0-60mph in 3.2s, 0-100 in 6.3, 0-200 in 28s, which was all amazing when I was 17 odd!!

just one car makes this so difficult.
RS6 is a contender but, its a bit big and heavy if you wanted to do some trackdays.
So im thinking the aston vanquish would prob do everything very well. Looks amazing, build quality is amazing, great place to sit, quick, sporty, exotic, useable.

first things first id have to buy my amazing husband a new vspec gtr...

... Right now he s off my back i can go shopping !!!

Id have to have a GT2 RS to keep at my house in the hills nr the nurburgring

Id have an RS6 estate for my shopping and the kids school run and id be quite happy with an rs5 cab for sunshine :)

My nan had one of them with it being burgundy instead of the blue, rusty old thing it was.

They did a "high-performance" version called the Vitesse. It had a straight-six engine (initially 1.6 litre, but then upped to 2.0 litre). By the standards of the day, it was pretty fast, and smooth with it. It was also pretty scary in corners because of the rather loose rear suspension arrangement.

I always thought that was the soft top version but obviously I am wrong Jeff,I worked at a sheetmetal place where we made the front wings from scratch...random info there

The Herald was the 4-cyl version, the Vitesse the 6. Both were available as soft-tops.

P.S. apologies to everyone else for taking the thread way off topic.

Unlimited budget.. the list will just go on and on.
I said before if I have won a silly amount of money id just hire cars, then drive the car your location and mood takes you.

Choose one…
The only thing id buy is a Land Rover Defender, iv always loved them and no matter how much money I have, I cannot stop it snowing!

This will get me out whatever the weather.

Good thread :icon_thumright:
