What is this item in the tool kit?

OK I'm happy to be branded an idiot but, for the life of me, I can't see

what this plastic item is for in the tool kit. The only thing I could think it is is an ice scraper but it seems far too flimsy for that. Please enlighten me someone.

Could it be for lining up something when changing the wheel / jacking up the car.

I have one in the B8 tool kit and according to ETKA it's an assembly tool for the tail light ??? .
Part number is 8T0012259, Seems to be the same on the A3.

Well I'm damned! I would never, not in a million years, have guessed that. After all as I've got LED rear lights that section is not a part of the manual I would have investigated

Wot? You no longer have to take car to a dealer to fix yer rear lights?

Can confirm that the item is for rear light bulb change, on page 264 of my Sportback manual (2014 car)
