Ok everyone!
Looking for some opinions on the following:

When getting my wheels refurbed Incan get the colour changed at the same time but not 100% sure if I should.

So....

Leave as standard silver
Change to black
Change to gun metal grey

Calipers are being done in red too.

You should go with a color that you like , wheel color and style is a very personal thing , one persons like's are not allways anothers.

I have a black bus and have been through a lot of rims styles in assorted colors and sizes etc , gloss black / gloss black with chrome face/ black chrome , gray / platinum silver ….a whole raft of shades of silver also silver with diamond cut faces and graphite.
All very nice in themselves but not all suited the bus, on hyper silver now and I think its probably the best so far .
I find black wheels tend to be too much and get lost in the arches , same with some other dark color rims, I found that if going dark then it is better on spoke rims or similar as the overall amount of black is less noticeable, some alloys in black etc just look too much, but hey, just my opinion and only you know which is best for your car.

Cheers for the reply...

Thinking of leaving them standard silver as I think the car will be better to shift in the future as close to standard as possible without too many mods making someone think its been thrashed.

Look great them mate!

Think I am set on standard look with the red cals.

Cant wait to get it done this Friday.
Machine buff to take out some minor scratches etc, wheel refurb, red cals, few bits of badges on boot to come off just leaving the hoops visible.

Sounds like a plan chap....don't forget piccy's

had you thought about changing the rear circles from chrome to gloss black ,works very well indeed and not really over the top.
My old bus came from the factory in de-badged mode so I only had the chrome circles.....which I changed to a decent quality gloss black item.

I will ask the guy doing it to take some before and after shots.

With it being the special edition version it has a lot of black to it already so won’t be doing the badge.
Trying to be careful not to take it too far.

Think the black wheels thing would have been too much now...

Ah yes, you have a Mk2 special edition so more black trim than my mk1, so yes it can get all a bit too black.
Mine has the platinum silver brightwork so breaks up the blackness more.

I do quite like the blacked out rings on your pic.
Maybe something for the future...

Hi there - thought I'd add my tuppence worth - keep them silver, do not, under ANY circumstance paint them black. This is the work of the devil & ruins the look of ANY car of ANY value with ANY wheels on it (from Trabants to Veyrons).
Red Calipers are, however, the Mutts Nuts - I've been painting calipers (and brake drums) red on all my cars since the 70s...........
Why would you want your car to look like its got a bunch of old spare wheels on it.........
My opinion only of course :whistle2:

Well, the car is back from the cosmetic work and I’m really happy with the result.

Polish has really lifted the paintwork and the wheels being refurbed back to standard looks decent.
Red calipers work well and the debadging looks good on the boot.

Not bad for £120

Cheers all, planing on keeping the car for 4 years so just had to get it to a decent standard to maintain.

Low mileage example and in this condition will always attract interest if I ever look to shift it onwards...
