i have the 2003 A3 8p1 2.0 fsi that has an idle issue. needle bounces every 8-10 seconds then returns to just under 800rpm. everytime i look for an answer people keep saying its the the mass airlfow meter. but where is it? my engine does not seem to have one.

ive had it on diagnostics and im getting coolant temperature sensor. so ive got one on the way. but in the meantime i wanted to go through all the other possible causes whilst im waiting for it to turn up.
changed the the coolant temperature sensor and the things has stopped bleeping COOLANT! at me which is a relief. however it still has a bit of a bounce on idle
