Where to locate amp in Sportback 8P

Having a think about ripping out my VERY basic set up (Chorus + front speakers) and installing different HU, amp and speakers in all 4 doors. I see that the preferred location for the amp is at the back, behind the offisde boot panel. Seems this will incur lots of extra cabling (power from fusebox, pre-outs from HU, etc) so was wondering if a compact amp can be accomodated nearer the front of the vehicle? Thanks DAVE

If you go aftermarket with the HU then you won't need an additional amp, just power the rears from the HU.

I've already got a Symphony II coming in the post but want to use the pre-outs to connect to an amp that drives all 4 spkrs

There's really nowhere at the front big enough for a 4 ch amp, you only really have the space behind the glovebox and that's pretty small.
