I must protest.... Hull has always been incorrectly put as Humberside which ceased to exist a long time ago but the Post Office has never changed to its correct name of East Riding of Yorkshire which the local Council spent millions changing road signs, branding, letterheads etc.

Nope...:busted_cop: You could get away with the standard East Yorkshire though as I have sometimes put. Also forgot to put that it is incorrectly listed in most company databases when you enter your postcode when you either order online or if you try and get anything delivered.
I deal with an Irish/American Computer Company & they have the county listed correctly, but the South American River Company or the one beginning with P which used to be based in the Isle Of White before it got bought out still has the County listed incorrectly, but this issues has also been highlighted in the House Of Commons as to why Companies are still using the name of a defunct County!
