Which fuse to tap for my audi a3 8v.

Hello. I've purchased a thinkware 750 and need to hardware it. Just want to be sure which one.

Do I need a 20 amp version or something else?

Get yourself a multimeter and test different ones out. Need one thats live when ignition is off, and one thats only live when ignition is on. Can then check the owners manual to see which ones are responsible for which electronic components. Always a good idea to avoid the safety related stuff, like airbags, etc.

20amp fuse in the piggyback for your camera is overkill. 2-5amp will be sufficient. Remember to place the fuse you tap into into the bottom slot of your piggyback.

Depending on how you are holding it depends on which is top and bottom.

Original fuse goes into the slot which is closest to the fuse box, 5A fuse goes into the other one and is the one you can therefore see when the fuse tap is inserted (closest to glove box lid).

The top 25 fuse is constant.
The bottom 20 is switched.
