elephant...pretty poor cover ta be fare, had a nightmare claim we them 2 years ago but nobody was cheaper, £450 access admittidly but for 2 claims, 6 points, 27 yr old , no no claims pretty good for £700 odd pound.

Adrian Flux underwritten by Highway. Greenlight got to the same price but wouldn't include breakdown cover. All mods declared £480 Full NCB age 37

Elephant just quoted me £596. Direct line are best so far...

Privelege, £333 fully comp protected with the missus as a named driver, 3 points and no claims

Churchill

Just slightly over £1300 fully comp

19 when I took the policy out.

2 years NCB.

Car parked on street.

Up to 12k miles I think.

Not sure whether they are any good when making a claim.

RH Specialist for the Cossie. £154 F/C £4k agreed value and salvage retention. 3000 mile a year limit. All mods declared.

Audi Insurance for the Audi. £810 F/C parked on street with ****** postcode and business use, no limit on miles. £1000 for road rage and car jacking therapy. £250 personal possesions. £40 per person per night for hotel if I breakdown, all singing all dancing bells and whistles etc

Directline, pretty good if your car isnt modded, bit of a nightmare if it is...

I've recently changed from Admiral to Adrian Flux. 9 Years NCB. There are many cheaper quotes around but many companies don't insure cars with mods.

I was with budget for years bought 3.2 v6 begining of last year they wanted £800 went with LV £370 f/c and gauranteed protected 10+yrs no claims car valued at 14500 never had a claim

direct line, 26 years old with 5y ncd and im £218 fully comp on my 1.8t quattro sport.

Shameless plug because I work for Confused.com but give us a try!!! I would say that we pride ourselves on "price accuracy", which means the price we quote is the price you pay, as opposed to other sites that quote based on assumptions that give a cheaper price to lure you in, until you go to the actual insurer and see the "real" price.

I am insured with Elephant, for what it's worth. I pay £220.

Always found the `real` sites to be cheaper than any comparison websites simply because the comparison websites take commission.

Just cut out the middle man and deal with the company direct and its much cheaper.

Adrian Flux underwritten by Redstar (IIRC?). You have to tell the you are a forum member and you get an extra discount (apparently).

Quote: Are you in an owners club or online forum? If not consider joining one. There are several great clubs for all the main hot hatch models, so you're sure to find one you like. People who are enthusiastic about their car and learn all they can about it will take better care of it, which is why you could get an extra discount of up to 15%.

Top tip: refuse the first premium, but make sure they have your Email. A day or so later you get a customer survey mail shot. Fill that in with, "you are known as the premium mod/hot hatch insurer, but your price...yada yada..."

Next thing you know, they managed to reduce the (already competitive) premium by £70.

Adrian Flux here too. Much cheaper than esure wanted on the standard car with all mods declared etc.

Very happy with the price.

I moved it as it wasn't vehicle specific. Its a more general question so i put it in general to get better coverage

I left the link into the B5 section for you so any interested B5 owners will come here anywhere . But this is more general chat hence the move.

Thanks

Directline just over £200 with 13y ncb + I'm an old fart at 38...

Cheers,

HIC do mine for £370 all mods declared and covered for business use. All modded parts are covered on a like for like basis unlike most companies who will hump th eprice but only pay out for standard kit.

SKY offered a damn good quote but not having heard of them I went to HIC. Then found out they did a lot of Jap stuff and were pretty good. Doh!

11 years no claims, living in London, 2.0 fsi
Elephant £440.

Reading this thread it feels like i'm getting ripped off!!!
London, 'ey!!

TBH mate I would steer well clear of all the Admiral group of insurers when it comes to anything more than a basic shopping car. I've had to deal with a couple of claims for friends and family with them and they are a total ****** mare

lloyds tsb and cis have always been the cheapest for me in the past! that's if paying annually. but halifax are meant to be good if wanting to pay by monthly installments but ive never been with them!

EDIT: i think Lloyds tsb is cheaper for me because most of my finances are with them so i think they give me like 3 months free!

Brentacre, insurance is underwritten by Highway Insurance.

:icon_thumright:

I pay £440 a year for my a4 2.8q with Bell which are part of the admiral group, with mods declared, although I had to pay an extra £20 when I called up to tell them about the wheels the other week.

I'm 24, its parked on driveway good post code 10k a year, 5 years no claims got guarrented nc bonus on that and I can drive any car 3rd party.

Directline, pretty good if your car isnt modded, bit of a nightmare if it is...

Was best quote I could get for mine unmodded. After tryin most/all the comparison websites, they beat lowest hits hands down.

Adrian Flux here although never accept their renewal quote. When you get the renewal through, go to moneysupermarket.com, get the best price, ring AF and tell them the good news. I saved about 200 squids this year by doing just that. That's like 66.7 pints!

Working for confused, I can tell you that's note quite how it works. Price accuracy means that either via confused or direct to the insurer site, the price will be the same.

The "Commission" comes from the insurer marketing budget, not the quote.
