2005 A3 8p 3door

My a3's driver side door electric window has dropped down and wont go back up.

Ive tried forcing it back up whilst pressing the button (for temp over the christmas period) due to obvious reasons. However I am not having any luck with this.

What can be the issue? What parts do i require? Someone has mentioned plastic clips breaking on the 8p's?

Part no. Would be great!

Thanks in advance.

You need to remove the doorcard and find out what's broke, that's the only way. Check the motor gear wheel first, it's just held in with 3 screws and is the first thing you see when the doorcard is off.

Have a look on YouTube, there's a few 'how to's ' on windows , glass change, motor, carrier.

How do i test the motor?

Unscrew the motor fixing screws and operate the window switch. If the gear wheel turns it's ok unless it's cracked of course.
