So, a bit of a left field one, noticed a crack in the windscreen passenger side only an inch or two away from the side border, crack is only 2cm max and can’t be felt from inside or outside. Definitely could be repaired (I’m guessing) but I hate things just being ‘patched’, is there only Audi that could supply/fit an original?

Autoglass can supply a new Audi one, you have to ask for it and maybe pay extra on top of any windscreen excess you may have.

Plus 1 for AutoGlass

When you ring up your insurer just tell them you want the OEM Audi glass.
Takes a few days to get authorisation but worth it.
And the fitter commented when he did mine a couple of years back that he was glad I’d specced the oem one as it fits nicer and first time.

Depends on the insurer, and the age of the car. I was with admiral and they said them would only cover OEM glass if the cars under 3 years old. Told them I was happy to cover the difference, but they said they don’t do that. But hopefully your insurance is better.
