Yo!
Decided to do a winter detail on the RS3 couple of weeks back and thought I would share some photos. Also managed to pick up some foam tiles for the garage from Costco so fitted them to my garage floor.
Normal kinda stuff, nothing new....
Process â
Hot Foam via Power washer â Auto Finesse Avalanche, rinsed then washed using the 2BM with Megs Shampoo.
Auto Finesse Iron Out , Tardis then a Megs Mild Clay.
Dried using filtered water passed through the Aqua Gleam and Polished Bliss Luxury Drying towel.
Windows treated with Nanolex Premium Glass sealant â this should last easily 8 months plus...
Bought some Gtechniq EXO v1 last year to protect the Cayman and still had some left over. Only down side to this stuff is that you must pre-heat each panel to a minimum of 20 deg C to ensure that the coating bonds properly. Heat gun and detailing lamps were used to help with the panel temp then itâs just a case of spray on, wipe off. Same kind of idea like a Quick Detailer....
Some random pics from the detail â
I then decided to take the wheels off and coat them too (on a different day)
Again some pics of the process â
Cleaned, then sprayed with AF Iron Out, left to dwell and then rinsed. You can see from the dark purple colour the amount of contamination itâs picked up, even after a good wash.
Clay barred, then dried and protected with Collinite Marque D'Elegance (915). Tyre gel of choice was AF Satin tyre gel.
Refitted and studs torqued to the correct value (120nm I hope). Cheers to my bestest friend Bruce for a lend of his trolley jack....
And finally the floor tiles for the garage â
Seen these types of tiles before but never really been that keen on them. Quick review and worked out it would cost £60 to cover my entire garage. Purchased from Costco and fitted. Pack included edge pieces to finish of bare sides. They may not last too long, but thought for the price it would be worth a try.
Sorry about the crappy iphone pics, but wasnt planning on doing a write up.
Cheers
Kev
