I currently have 235/45/R17 on my Audi. I have been offered 235/65/R17 winter tyres, Will these fit on the alloys (standard A4 alloys).

Very good price I hope they do

Im sure the 45/65 Difference is just the Depth of the tyre. the 235/R17 is width and Size. I need a quick answer on this before they go. is the 45/65 a massive difference and will they fit

Don't think the extra 20mm on the side wall will make much difference, ride height adjustment, speedo out I'm assuming your car is not lowered and the extra will fit under the arch :)

No its not its and aspect ratio of the height of the side wall the 45 and 65 is a percentage of the 235 giving the height of the sidewall

they will fit on the rims but stand a little taller dont think it will be enough to cause an issue though

the tyres will probably rub, the 45-65 profile means a 20% in overall difference. Your speedo will read 70, you will really be going at 84mph.
I would get correct size

I think too big. Probably off of a 4wd like an X5 or similar. Dont think they would even fit in arches, near enough 6" bigger in dia.
As been said the 45 and 65 are the % aspect ratio of the 235mm width.
Would look a bit MadMax if they went on though.

Specification -Sidewall- Radius - Diameter -Circumference- Revs/km- Difference
235/45-17 -106mm -322mm -643mm- 2021mm -495- 0.0%
235/65-17 - 153mm - 369mm - 737mm- 2316mm -432- 14.6%
