Hi all,
Ten years into my 1.8t ownership (220k).
Just topped up the oil after the light came on. Put a reasonable amount in (half way up the dotted region on the dipstick) and for the first time ever the lamp stayed on. Am I getting a bad sensor or is there something more sinister in the works? Thanks for any advice.

Check your bonnet catch sensor , apparently if this sensor fails itl interfere with the oil min light

Thanks for the advice - as noted by others with this problem, it just randomly cleared after a couple of days driving around irritating me. Now my ****** reverse sensors are playing up!….

Could be the oil level sensor if it comes back. Very common point of failure
