It's coming up to cambelt change time - again, up to 152,000 miles now.
The question is - should I get the water pump changed again, it was replaced with the last belt change, at about 80,000.
Car is 1.8T.

Thanks in advance.

Rich

It's a no brainer, do it while the bits are off anyway.
Nik.

I would say do it, might as well while you got everything else off...also not worth the risk.

Thanks for the replies - looks like a unanimous YES.

HTC - I was wondering same thing - if it was replaced with a metal one, does that mean I can leave it until the next belt change at 200,000!

Cheers Rich

Water pump is £25 quid max for the part, you will need some new G12 coolant which is around 5 quid a bottle, and you need 2 of these, it's a no brainer to replace these parts during the cambelt change, unless your mechanic wants an extra £50+ for labour. Get him to check the cam cover gasket to see if theres anything leaking from the cambelt side whilst he's at it, I had to get mine changed(Car was on around 50k miles at the time), but I did it myself.
