Milltek corroded exhaust

Hi all,

I've just had my 05 A3 MOTd and it came back with an advisory for a very corroded exhaust and small hole in the flexi pipe. I've attached a couple of screenshots that I took last year when it was up on a ramp.

My question is is there anything I can do about this? I've read Milltek do a lifetime 'anti-corrosion' guarantee - but is this only for the original owner?

My own experience of Milltek has been that even in non-warranty situations,they come through with the goods.

Is the downpipe also Milltek as this is where the flexi section is? Were they referring to the cat back or the downpipe? The photos you took don't really show any significant rust?

its easy to get it cleaned, just use some autosol paste after you cleaned it with wet sanding paper 600/800/1000. pipes can be done with 280 to remove most of the rust and then 400/800 to finish off. Bit of a pain but worth it.
