Please see 10 second video:

All interior lights are on without the ignition on. When I put the ignition on, the ash tray light, drinks holder light, and cig lighter all go out after 5 seconds. I presume that this is when the ECU does its checks.

Anybody have any idea what might be causing it?

Cheers

Okay so they all have the E5 ground (lower NS A pillar) in common, but no contact issues when investigated.

These lights not being on is getting to my Audi OCD.

Somebody must know what might be causing it?! VCDS just shows 01298: instrument cluster lamp. But what other lights does this circuit supply?
I do have both sidelights out, but assume that bulb malfunction circuit is separate from the interior? Changing those tomorrow.

The following all come on then go off after 5 seconds of ignition on:

- 12v illumination (but still has power)
- Ashtray light
- Ambience lighting under climate control
- ESP button light (but still works)
- Drinks holder light
- Dash dimmer light and adjuster light (at right of steering wheel)

Any help appreciated.

For anyone with similar problems in the future, this turned out to be due to both sidelights being out.

Wiring diagrams didn't say that they were part of the same circuit.
