BEX loss of coolant..

Hi folks,

Noticed my coolant was low today so topped it up, I noticed that the thread on the lid of the header tank was broken, I screwed it on the best I could. Just got home and the car has over heated.. I'm assuming that pressure build up has broken the thread and caused it to overheat.. or could it be something else??
I've probably just answered my own question haven't I? :-D

caps and tanks are know to fail.

Yeah the o ring in the cap has failed too.. I've made an o ring but I could do with a new cap me thinks..
