originally dismissed these as cheap Chinese rubbish but was looking for a set of stubby rachet spanners and they look reasonably good quality. Did a little bit a research and they seem to get good reviews. My usual manufacturer of choice (teng tools) is what I consider to be best of the mid range and am happy with what I've got so far from teng. But wondered if anyone has real world experience of tekton and how they stack up against teng tools and alike?

Thanks, Steve

They are an American firm some of their tools made in the USA and others made in Taiwan/China, as it happens I have a Tekton 6inch vice (made in China) and seems okay, the coating has withstood welding, lots of heat and pounding on , the jaws grip a 2mm washer fine , sure its not a top quality product but for a very average DIY'er it works for me.

Halfords stuff is good and lifetime warranty as well, I have one of the larger socket sets and it's good quality apart from the blow moulded case.
