I have a 1999 s3 and i wondering if anybody has had a wheel bearing go on them? and if so how much did it set you back? Cheers.

had 1 go on me - parts were £25 ish and fitting around £40 - parts from GSF

delears part is 30quid fiting shud only cost 15quid at a reasonable garage. Dealer bearings are made by FAG which are not the best quality in the metal industry, but they do what they have to i guess

Depends if it is rear or front, one went on my rear and it cost £150, to fix.....took them ages to do as all the rear set up has to be removed (dont know tech terms) way more complicated than front.

Went to 2 vag specialists and about £150-£170 Is the norm for rear....plus the mechanic snapped a £150 spanner doing mine.....gutted!

If its noise its usually the tyres, not wheel bearings.

if its play in there, its the bearing.
