I've got the 1.6 FSI BLF engine in bits at the minute chasing an oil leak. It's not really a big deal but since I'm not using the car I've tasked myself with trying to track the problem down.
At first I thought it was coming from the oil cooler as I couldn't see very well but I took the exhaust manifold off to get a better look and found the gasket covered in oil. Hopefully you can see from the pictures that there's a trace of oil around it and on the oil cooler. I'm baffled as to how it is escaping though and would appreciate some help? What is more confusing is that it wasn't producing any smoke and no emissions warning light either.
I'm still not 100% convinced the oil cooler is leak tight as there's some oil around the joint but no signs of any oil in the coolant at all.
