Hi guys. Love the forum. About to tackle my dreaded dsg gearbox. Had the mech unit done last year and don't have any probs replacing circuit boards in there but wanted to know if anyone had tackled the one inside the gearbox itself as I think I still have a fault here as my car jumps out off gear when you try Accelerate harder than normal. Just goes into neutral then comes up with the dash mess gearbox malfunction no reverse. Cont to drive. But scarry when pulling away at roundabouts as think someone is going to rear end me one off these days. Anyway. Pull over switch off and restart and all.is fine.again. no codes being stored. As a result off already doing the mech repair can only think this now must be down to the 1st gear pickup sensor or someit in the gearbox. ANY input is welcome on this guys as for what I can see and read on the forums dsg problems is pretty common on the b8 8.5 platform. Mine is a 2009 3.0 avant. Keep uk the goid postings as always a good read.

when you replaced the mech unit did you do the adaption? if not you might want to try that first... read this and try the adaption first, before spending any money.

Haven't done the adaptations.yet as had a rear diff fault.clme.up.half way through the adaptation. Have now rectified thus by replacing the and control mod at audi at.a.cost off 850quid. So.no faults.showing now. I have obd11 but really want tk get vcds before trying adaptations.again.

Vcds is better to do the adaption... but audi should have done it when they finished the rear diff. I would question them about it.

Hi guys. Still on here complaining off my crappy gearbox. Took all advice on board and had brand new audi oils and even replaced the oil filter on the side with audi parts. Not the one in with mech unit, although did thus one too, but the long barrel shaped one one the outside.. Yesnyou guessed nit still throwing me out off gear. Seam to have 1st,3rd,5th,7th. Just no even gears and off course no reverse. Been told alsorts about repairs from pcb, position sensors to actuators. Can anyone recommend someone decent in the Glasgow area or surrounding that has done these sort off repairs. Best I've heard off is a place in Bristol that does it for 3 grand, which, I know is sore but by time transport down there add another grand on top. For a 2009 s4 is questionable, i know, but do love this car but looks like gonna have to just trade the beast in if can't get her fixed. All answers appreciated guys and hope ya all enjoy and have fun in whatever you have.

Just use Google to find an Audi independent specialist in your area that advertise the automatic gearbox repairs... it's how I found 3 in my town and all of them have positive reviews regarding the automatic gearbox repairs and the almost quoted the same prices with 1 of them under cutting the 2 others by almost 70 pounds, using the exact same brands (difference was in the work hours)
