MMI 3G update software and map

Is there a diy method to update this on my 2012 A5?
Or is it just pay the 60 notes to the man on the bay!

This is the website for all things software wise https://mhhauto.com/ plenty of good info on there. I did find its easier to pay the £60 to the ebay man as everything is pre packaged with instructions. So no faffing around find the right sd cards etc
