computer reset/computer location

how do i reset my computer with out using a scanner?
and where is the computer located because i think there might b water/condesation geting to it because a while ago my car was acting strange and when i took it to the shop to check out wat the problem is they said there was water getting to the computer somehow and now its starting up again so i was wondering where the computer is located

Which computer? Engine ECU? Central convienience module?

umm not the ecu but the other one that controls lots of functions

Well the easy way is to disconnect the battery for a little while and reconnect but make sure you have the code for the Head unit as you will need it.
