2003 A3 TDi Cambelt change?????

Hi,
Im looking at buying a 2nd hand 2003 Audi A3 TDi and it has 68k miles on the clock. I dont think the buyer has replaced the cambelt and Ive read it should be done every 60k miles or every 5 years. Is this true and if so would the engine be damaged because its done over the 60k? Also how much would it cost to get this done?

hi mate,it wont have done any damage.needs to be done asap tho,prob cost around 300-400.dont forget to change the water pump at the same time
