so that was the first job of the day out of the way
the 2nd was to attempt to fit these sidelight holders
i knew they was just a universal kit so the chances of them fitting the back of the a4 headlights first time was pretty slim
and my thoughts were correct
they didn't.
the actual bulb holder size is spot on the same as the original audi bulb holder but unfortunately the fixing points was different. at the moment i have put them in and held them with a tiny bit of plastic model glue which is holding them fine and just right if i needed them out again
until i can make a little arm bracket up to secure them properly which is another days job
i had to hard wire them in as he original audi indicator bulb holder makes its contact as it goes into the headlamp so i ran a new cable to the otherside of the headlight plug using my multimeter with the indicators on to see what wire had power and for the sidelight i just used the live from the 501 bulb holder that is already supplied for the sidelight
. all wired in and looking good with no bulb out warning lights.
unfortunately i didn't get no photos of the install of these as i didn't quite have enough hands
some photos for you
you don't really notice the 5w in the daylight to much but as you can see when the light drops that look great imo
and today i got a little video while i was in tescos carpark with sidelights on and me locking and unlocking the doors so you can see the indicator brightness over the sidelight
all comments welcome good or bad i know they won't be everyones cup of tea but i like them
