Hi Everyone ..
Its been a rather long time since i last updated. This is just due got being a bit lazy and new work taking more of my free time.
Lets go back to March, the faces of the wheels arrived back and looked perfect. i offered up some BBS caps and thought it looked a nice contrast.
These were then sent off to a mate who was taking care of the barrels and would eventually build them back up.
In the meantime I started to buy other bits for the car to reach the magic 360BHP I was chasing.
I bought the Autotech HPFP internals from TSR ... i decided against buying the LOBA pump.
@mjr901 supplied a RS4 return valve
I got these both fitted by my local mechanic. Neither were exactly straight forward to fit but none the less sorted eventually.
It was late March at this point and the car was ready for the famous Stage 2+. I started to shop around for quotes on remaps. I had heard great things about R Tech. None the less i shopped around, Revo and APR dealers were all after ludicrous amounts. (around £700)
Where as R tech is a independent mapper and with one of the best reputations out there for half the price. However Nikki would want to replace my Forge DV to a Rev G. I decided to go with R Tech (sods law had the longest wait out of any of the firms i contacted)
I didn't really drive the car very much or at all hard until i was to have the car mapped. As i was informed the car wouldn't run right untill the HPFP was mapped in.
May 4th arrived. This was the big day. I was staying an hour and a half away from Hinckley and I was booked in first thing at 9.30AM.
However i really couldn't sleep haha and woke up at 4am. I couldn't sit around any longer so i went out and did some site seeing not so far from Hinckley to waste time. I'm guessing after this seasons football, everyone knows who Leicester city are
Eventually I arrived at R tech and they started working on the car straight away.
To begin with they struggled to keep the car warm, for some reason the car was cooling down very quickly.
However after 3 hours of tinkering it was done. I'm pleased to now say my cars running .........
So i didn't hit the figure i wanted by 7.7bhp. I won't lie ... I WAS GUTTED.
However i was given several reasons why ...
*There was a mix of 97/99 Ron fuel
*The colipacks needed replacing ..the idle of the car is lumpy
*I was using OEM spark plugs instead of iridium tipped ones.
*The clutch couldn't cope with much more power.
I was also advised id need to run the car on 5w 40 oil and preferably millers Nanodrive
Bringing all this into consideration and giving the car a good drive home, I got over it very quickly hahah
Heres a graph. To my discovery the car wasn't already running a map as i was told when i had bought it, which i was pleased to hear.
You tell me what you think of the graph as i haven't a clue haha
moving on from there i started my new job and was given a company car .., I had no idea what id collect. they told me id probably get a 3 door corsa more then likely. but on the day i started i was pleasantly surprised with a Hyundai i40 1.6TDI. i won't bore you for too long. But for what it is, I'm really impressed with all the mod cons on board and how comfy it is and how much go it has in it for a small diesel engine!
May Bank holiday arrived and the wheels were very close to completion.
They had taken a VERY long time to clear up the pitting on the dish. however 30 hours worth of graft they were sorted.
Heres a pic robbed from my mates IG
May day came and it was the day i got the wheels fitted. I decided against the red BBS enters, i felt it was a little bit of a overkill and stuck with the OEM's off my original wheels.
personally from this view i think the wheels look a little gash. i haven't really taken any more pictures. However this doesn't do them any justice !! I really need to get some better photos in the light.
I have recently just got round to getting some new plugs and replacing the coil packs with r8 ones for the hell of it swell as getting nano drive oil.
Thats all for now sadly.
Theres not a lot more I'm after doing for the time being.
Just some springs, spacers, black rear diffuser and respray the front bumper.
As always thanks for looking !
