First of all, apologies if this is in the wrong place, yet another newbie here. If it’s on the wrong place, please advise me.

I have a 1999 A4 avant, 2.4 V6. Currently in the market for some new alloys, just seems hard when you can’t fit first to confirm.

Question is, The only one I query, will I fit 9.5 width on the front with no issues?

Thanks

What you got planned for it mate
Just coilovers, 19’s. got the k&n on, but it’s the FWD so don’t want too much power. She’s pristine inside with the cream leather, so it’s more of a touring car.

Going to get an S4 next year for the power element.

Nice I am after some new rims too don't really like the ones on mine

I am the same got coilovers I am going to fit so want to drop mine a little more

Is the nut on the top of the coilovers done up I had a golf mk4 with the same you think it's tight but it's the whole coilover spinning did you do it up with a impact driver

It’s on, but only as tight as I can get with my hand. Once I start to use a socket or impact driver, the shaft of the shock also spins and so the thread won’t pass the nylon in the nut.

I took the nut right off then I wizzed it on with the impact driver mine is a powerful one so it goes on really quick doesn't really give the shock time to spin

Cheers dude, I will get myself a decent impact driver and see how that goes!

I've got a roybe 18v paid about 190 for it you got any pics of the car with the coilovers fitted

No pics yet as I’ve only just got it on. Not impressed by the knocking, plus the front end has dropped so much, even if I raise it as much as I can on the springs, it still rubs like mad. Starting to regret it.

Cool hope I don't have the same issues with mine doing mine next weekend

I only ask as I’ve just fitted the prosport coilovers and I’ve got such a loud knocking sound from the top mounts, no idea why.
Did you manage to get your coilovers sorted mate? I’ve also got some pro sport ones which I’m fitting next month.

Yeah, had to make sure the nylock bolts on the top mount/shaft were extra tight. Impact driver worked!

Any luck with the coilovers bud
Yeah, impact driver got the nylock bolts extra tight, all sorted. Pulled it from the garage and got it stuck on the wet mud though, so digging it out.

Patience is key! Only real problem I had was the nylock nut on the shaft, had to buy a impact driver. Also, changing to coilovers has made me realise how many other parts needed changing, the harder ride brought out the worst in my older parts, especially at the front.
