What Car Care / Detailing Have You Done Today ?

Centre caps getting the treatment . Treated with Krystal Kleen Brake Away. Then a good clean with fairy liquid ( strikes again ).

Bit of a pain to get spotless but done and about to give them an IPA clean . Then it'll be onto the Gtechniq C5.....

Had to get my fix somehow

Are those gonna fit your new wheels mate? Is it not just the circular centre cap you need?

Recently detailed my Cupra 290 MY19 in Neveda White

Washed using 2BM with carpro wool washmit and AMDetails shampoo

Most of car dried with Sidekick Blaster and finished off with drying towel.

Used beadmaker for the first time, the slickness is pretty unreal and the smell is gorgeous.

As per videos I’ve seen for the first time use I saturated the panels with beadmaker and buffed off using rag company Edgeless creature , very easy to do.

Under beadmaker is BH cleanser polish and BH double speed wax which I did last week plus full decon with clay, ironx and tardis.

Wheels have a combo of spray on sealants applied, bit of V7 and beadmaker. I do have C5 but need more time to get the wheels off to apply.

Tyres have Megs Endurance gel on after cleaned with BH Surfex HD and Tyre Brush.

Pics are from today (and way over the 8hrs cure time beadmaker recommends)

As you know white is really hard to photo but it does shine and reflect very well!

Reason for using BM is for the gloss levels, car gets washed weekly so not bothered about durability.

Thanks for looking.

Great results there mate, P&S bead maker is hands down the best paint sealant I’ve used to date, as you say it smells as good as it performs. Gloss on the car after a few hours is unreal and lasts for weeks as I’ve just washed the car after letting it sit for 5 weeks without washing it.
Still had great water beading properties after the dirt and dust was washed off.

You know what stupid me hasn't even tried them for a fit . Look like they will but haven't got round to putting them on yet . If they don't fit then whoever buys my old s-line wheels is getting some new looking centre caps

That’s incredible - how long is the coating expected to last with regular washing etc?

I know, but great fun!

Look forward to your write up on caliper painting, as that is something I want to do, but thinking I may go gloss black to tie in with Mythos (Ok, so Mrs not a fan of me going Red, despite the fact her JCW has red calipers, but then slightly more sporty than my tank)

To be honest Nev , SQ5 has red calipers and they look great against black . Your tank , your choice I say

@Adam14, so so true. Just floated the Red idea at lunch, think I am in :)

So would you all recommend:

Hammerite Smooth Red - https://www.hammerite.co.uk/colorgroup/red/

Or

POR 15 - https://www.frost.co.uk/por15-caliper-painting-kits.html

Or something else? - Planning on brush not spray painting
I'd go with the Hammerite gloss, think you want that shine on them, plus would look more OEM. I'm considering the same mod for the S5 as they're currently black.

think I agree there. Funny enough (as above) was considering black, but if you are going to do it, may as well be bright colour, and red ties in (a stretch here) with the SLINE badges.

Only thing is, I have also read that not all calipers look good when painted, as big lumps.

Here is a pic of current, what do you reckon?

Rear alloy refurb last week didn’t go too well hoping for a better job in 2 weeks time and better colour match (too silvery not “grey” enough)

Hi Andy, no - I found a few issues post supply (66 plate) last month. Aberdeen Audi kindly agreed to cover cost, and it was done locally in Essex through a main dealer (but outsourced of course). They’re going back in week after next so hopefully they’ll be spot on this time otherwise I’ll run out of metal!!

Andy, you may be able to get a “smart repair” done, by someone like chipsaway or revive-uk (have used former before without issue) They would come out to you.

A full refurb would normally take a few days, and be anywhere from £60-£120 depending on whether diamond cut or not (and obviously diamond cut can only have limited refurbs).

Could prob do it myself Dave what do you think ?

Watched the rain clean mine yesterday, I have no clue when I will be well enough to give the car a good going over. I can just about prewash it with citrus juice and stand there with hose, but that's it at the moment.
Not even driving :-(

If that was mine, I'd definitely have a go myself if not under some form of cover/warranty. It was £125 per wheel to re-diamond cut my two rear alloys. If they need doing again in (say) a years' time I'd get mine powder coated/painted as DC seems to be a pain in the proverbial !
